im having similar issues with the error posted above on 12.04 LTS neither command works

after a bit of browsing i fouind the answer.. to manually install python 2.6 you need to do the folowing in term: wget http://XX.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/p/python2.6/{python2.6{,-minimal,-dev,-dbg},libpython2.6}_2.6.7-4ubuntu1_i386.…

also the i386 folder on the repo is returning a 404 error
